Description

The Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences (Professional Masters) provides interdisciplinary training for professionals to work in Integrated Environmental Management in Municipalities, through training, research, development and innovation in environmental technologies applied to public and private institutions.

Objective

The Postgraduate Program in Environmental Sciences has as general objective the interdisciplinary training of professionals with the competence to: (a) work in Integrated Environmental Management in Municipalities, (b) analyze environmental phenomena that occur in urban and rural areas and (c) build new references and/or technologies applied to environmental solutions (in the economic, social and ecosystem spheres).

Goals

To achieve this goal, the dynamics of the program’s knowledge process and the development of research adopt an evolutionary direction and are strategically based:
1 – In the sustainability of municipal management, in environmental, health and educational sciences aimed at the quality of development of cities and their populations, whether in urban or rural areas.
2 – In the promotion of partnerships where the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences at Universidade Brasil proved capable of producing innovations with patents, software, technical-scientific publications, which were made available to support and qualify managers and technicians in public administration and the private sector in solving socio-environmental problems. Projects were developed in partnership with technicians and managers of companies and/or institutions (public and private), allowing the sharing of data, infrastructure, expertise and financing.
3 – In the search for improvement and continuous updating of the course by monitoring market trends, and the appropriation of new studies and research that stand out in the socio-environmental and health area,
4 – In the demands of companies and/or institutions, public and private, and society in general.

The evolutionary process is accompanied by continuous assessment by the faculty and students of the Graduate Program in Environmental Sciences at ITS-USA. This process has made it possible to adjust, consolidate and/or implement the content of existing and/or new disciplines, introduce programmed activities and add new dimensions to their lines of research.
